Wine bar. Turks & Frogs is a wine bar. But. And this is one big but. Skip the food and you’ll miss out on a lot.
I began with hummus, an authentic and generous presentation, complete with warm pita bread.
From there, it was a short hop to tuna tartare. Another very unskimpy creation, the ahi tuna mixed with sesame oil, avocado, scallion, and tomato, served beneath arugula salad. A very different take on the expected and way exceptional.
Also worth a brag, the sausage flatbread, uniquely brilliant in the company of kasseri cheese, olives, arugula, and olive oil sauce.
Know what else goes well with wine? Their dessert: a tempting assortment of Michel Cluziel chocolates. Primo by any standards.
All this within the confines of their red walled, funky, book dotted space.
At Turks & Frogs the saying goes there’s always time for a glass of wine.
Just be sure to spend a little grabbing some bites.
