Vegan. Planta Queen is vegan royalty. But you don’t have to be one to find your bliss.
All hail Queen Caesar. With green papaya, kale, mushroom bacon, almond parmesan and yuzu crisp, this innovative Caesar and incomparably tasty dressing are worthy of worship.
Theirs is no run of the mill edamame. Steamed with chili and maldon sea salt, you’ll be thrilled that bowl is brimming. Yours to quickly conquer or savor over time.
If you’re craving a roll, the baked crab (hearts of palm, spicy mayo, ponzu) will fill your mouth with sweet goodness, bite after luscious bite.
As will your choice of four dumplings (steamed or fried). My favorites, the crispy gyoza (cabbage, carrot, cilantro, mushroom, chili sauce) and sweet corn with tom yum and cilantro chimichurri.
Also not to be missed, the pineapple fried rice, scattered with curry, cashew, goji berries, Thai basil. And like every single dish, more than impressive in size.
Their dessert? Charcoal and Oreo soft serve. Yes, charcoal. Really for aesthetics ’cause the flavor is O-R-E-O.
The space is steeped in style (bird cagey filament shades, dramatically lit bar), the staff super friendly, the disco ball and music ratcheting up the magic.
An evening at Planta Queen can make a loyal subject of anyone. Sworn carnivores too.
