French.   No matter how you’re feeling as you find your way to Mila’s, you’ll walk out happy.  Because everything about this place puts you in a good mood.  The music (almost purely 70s), the service (warm and friendly as it gets), the pace and portions on point, the meal delish from start to finish.

I began with the exceptional French onion soup, appreciated all the more in the below freezing temps.  Then tuna tartare hit the spot, truly inviting with its unique accompaniment of avocado and taro chips.

The mains delivered as well.  There is so much to like about the steak sandwich.  The caramelized red onions are a nice touch and the Swiss cheese takes the flavor to a whole different level.  Combined with mixed greens and ideal, crunchy fries – a thoroughly memorable dish.

If you’re into lamb, the rack (with green beans and roasted potatoes) is unforgettable.  Each chop so satisfyingly thick, you’ll be glad you chose to commit.

Also worthy of devotion, either of their desserts.  The chocolate cake is flourless but you won’t miss the ingredient; this is baked perfection.

As for their mixed berries tart, the fruity sweetness alone will carry you home.

Chatting with the charming server, it was revealed her father is the chef.  Hats off to him for a truly wonderful experience.  One worth revisiting, again and again.
