American. There are DJs. And there are DJs.

But until you’ve heard the genius mashup of New York, New York, Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure, have you really lived?

Thursdays through Saturdays, you’ll be immersed in some of the most brilliant and creative tune spinning around.

And every night of the week, Oscar is serving dinner and drinks you’ll dig just as much. The menu is eclectic yet they have a knack for doing everything well.

I began with a bowl of chicken dumplings (five teriyakis, green beans, crispy onions, greens, ponzu sesame oil). Tremendous in size, flavor and those accompaniments!

Yes, that rivals a Chinese restaurant, but what about a seafood joint? One bite of octopus (grilled with chimichurri sauce) tells you all you need to know. The plate is plentiful, the pieces lengthy and thick as a cut of meat.

Seeing they do fish well, of course they’ve aced the lobster roll (mayo, celery, Old Bay butter, brioche roll). Each chunk of Maine lobster is sweet, the roll perfection, the taste exquisite. I paired it with a side of fries from heaven and could not have been happier.

Last, but not least – the organic grilled chicken. Boneless and in lemon jus, it needs no accentuation.

Oscar Wilde has a rep for its festive and topical decor. Walking in, you’re immediately wrapped in the spirit of the closest holidays. Sure, the food seals the deal, but their music puts it completely over the top.

I don’t think it’s humanly possible to not have an amazing time here. Whatever your mood when you arrive, you’ll be dancing your way out (and yeah, there were people grooving as I made my way to the door)!
