American, Gastropub. What inspires fun at Spitzer’s Corner? Everything, including the furniture. The first thing I noticed were the long, wood communal tables. The space is shared and based on the amazing time everyone’s having, it totally works. So does the food which seems designed to satisfy any possible craving. I could not get enough of the Kobe sliders (cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, butter lettuce, tomato, pickle, toasted brioche buns) and housemade, hand-cut fries. They belong together and clearly I belong with them. It was eventually time to move on to the watermelon salad (fresh watermelon, heirloom tomatoes, arugula, fresh mint, feta cheese) so tasty and refreshing it almost made me forget what I’d just finished. I next sampled the chicken sandwich which is epic (aka Epic Fried Chicken – Bell & Evans thighs, butter lettuce, spicy red pepper sauce, house mayo, potato bun). And, yeah, it lives up to the hype. At some point you might get full, but that’s no reason to leave. You can stay until 4:00 a.m. on weekends (and this place is such a good time, it would surprise no one if you did).
