American. If you go by the name of the restaurant, we all belong there. If you go by the food, the same is true (assuming everyone likes thoughtfully conceived creations, deliciously prepared then tastefully presented). Each dish was radically different from the next, linked only by a degree of flavor so exceptional that props are mandatory. My initiation began with pizza (mozzarella on garlic toast, marinara on the side). It’s up to you to dip the bread. I never knew it would be this exciting to be part of the process (until I tasted the result and it blew my mind). It is so incredible, I began to question if we’ve been doing it wrong all these years. They also offer grilled skewers and I tried the shrimp (green curry, coconut) and the pork (pineapple, chile). It’s hard to play favorites when both are this tasty, so I won’t. If you’re feeling like crudité, the board appears with three dips (red pepper aioli, herb pesto, tahini yogurt). Every one of their market vegetables had noticeable crunch, attesting to the freshness bite after addictive bite. I concluded the meal in the midst of Peruvian chicken (fried yucca, green sauce, white sauce). Unsurprisingly it, too, was worth the visit. You are a son. Or you’re a daughter. Come here and know what else you’ll be? Really, really happy.
