Butcher Bar – LES (CLOSED)

146 Orchard Street (between Stanton and Rivington Sts).  212-842-8000 www.butcherbar.com

BBQ.  “Meat that falls off the bone” has become a cliché.  But hold the phone, because their Fall Off the Bone Ribs are so tender and mouthwatering, Butcher Bar – LES has earned the right to claim that name and flaunt it.  These ribs are a NY style half rack, smoked ’til they —  you-know-what.  The sauce could not possibly be more superior.  And, to top it off, this beautiful creation arrives with fries, slaw, pickles, each not just uniquely addictive, but the perfect meat mate.

In addition, they showcase double smoked beef burnt ends (aka meat candy).  The menu says award winning and I have no doubt.  I would also pin a ribbon on the smoked cubano.  Their smoked bacon invention is topped with pulled pork, pickled onions, muenster cheese, pickles, and spicy brown mustard on Texas toast.  So the bread is oversized.  And the sandwich fully packed.  Better news you’ll not receive any time soon.   Yes, generally speaking, smoking is bad for you.  But at Butcher Bar – LES — NEVER.
