Gastropub. How do you feel about a pretzel larger than the circumference of your head? It’s the Bavarian Uber (think size, not ride) and is as soft, salty and delicious as it is gargantuan. Throw in the side of mustard and you’ve discovered a knot of pure perfection. Equally flawless, the buffalo chicken and bleu cheese egg rolls. This inspiring twist rivals even the most addictive wing, whether plunged in hot sauce, bleu cheese or indulged straight up.
If mini burgers are your motivation, theirs (special sauce, Martin’s potato roll, American cheese add on) are flavor packed and far from puny. In fact, every offering I encountered was light years beyond generous.
Take the angry bird (crispy Buffalo chicken thigh, creamy bleu cheese, crispy onions amidst brioche). It arrives with an unadvertised side of long, thick fries, the duo a mouthwatering meal in itself. Just pledge to resist any feelings of fullness and commit to the Almond Joy (think dessert, not candy). It’s an ingenious invention of homemade brownie, vanilla bean ice cream, roasted almonds and toasted coconut. It will bring much joy like everything else at Amity Hall.
And by saving some for the road, (I’m looking at you, pretzel), your happiness will live on. For days.
