Japanese. The first word on the menu to catch my eye was lollipop (edamame). It’s in celebratory sync with Megu, where the space, tracks and vibe shout par-tay! It is easy to roll with the rhythm here, but you won’t sacrifice food for scene. Their modern take on Japanese cuisine is nothing less than revelatory. Case in point, the dumpling. Leave all preconceptions at the door since this spicy cheese creation (feta, mozzarella, scallion) isn’t just innovative, it’s incomparable. Next flash of brilliance, the Kani salad. Forget field greens and ginger dressing. This has arugula…and avocado…and watermelon…and king crab. I know. Carnivores, just you wait. The skirt steak is 8 ounces of prime satisfaction. It’s a challenge to elevate flavor this right, but the sweet and sour sauce will do just that. They take it all to new heights, and they’re not done yet. I present to you: the bronut. Who needs cronuts, when a brownie is the ultimate mate? Now add vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, vanilla crumbs and you have entered an alternate dimension. Are you craving such an experience? Then get your groove on at Megu.
