Steakhouse. Laidback and steakhouse rarely occupy the same sentence. Yet together they are destined to be, when the discussion is Quality Eats. It’s where patrons might do shots rather than deals, all while dining on the highest caliber cut. But before making the move to meat, I indulged in another steakhouse staple – the crab. Theirs is served with cilantro and citrus in an avocado purée, as captivating as any offered on white tablecloths to the world of wing tipped warriors. If filet mignon is your crave, just ask for Don Ameche. I’m guessing Don was a huge steak fan, and should this be true of you, you’ll be overjoyed by his namesake. You could also take it down several notches and find inevitable happiness in the patty melt with spicy slaw. It’s the perfect fusion of flavor, seared in the memory for days and weeks to come. While on the subject of singeing, it is time to speak of the S’more (burnt marshmallow ice cream, graham cracker shortbread, fudge swirls). I know — what can be said of scorched desserts that has not already been said? Not much, especially when your mouth is filled with confection bliss. But as mine is currently not, I will leave you with the only four syllables you’ll need. Quality Eats.
