American.  You know where caramelized apples belong?  On angus burgers accompanied by onions and blue cheese.  I did not realize that until recently, and now it seems so painfully obvious.  You can see for yourself by stopping by and requesting the Black Lodge burger.  They also make a Black Lodge seafood pasta which, while harboring no apples (linguini, shrimp, calamari, tilapia, basil & roasted garlic butter sauce), has the power to truly uplift.  In advance of either amazing entrée, you could try their crab cake (lump crab meat, roasted corn, peppers, lemon vinaigrette) or one of the flatbreads like grilled shrimp, spinach, heirloom tomatoes, basil oil, green olives, with roasted red pepper sauce.  Both are noticeably generous in portion and will keep you happily pursuing a seafood groove.  Before hitting the road, you might give thought to the melted chocolate cake.  I thought of it repeatedly until I saw my reflection in the plate.   Apples and angus, destined to be together.  Just like you and a totally tasty evening at The Black Lodge.
