i'll find the restaurant that's right for your night

Out East (CLOSED)

509 East 6th Street (between Avenues A and B)  212-509-5096   www.outeastnyc.com

Seafood.  Out East is chill paradise.  The space, the vibe, the service, the meal.  If you aren’t relaxed when you arrive, you will be by the time you walk out.

But back to the food.  The Caesar salad (romaine, boquerones, brioche croutons) was crispy, crunchy greatness, their clam flatbread (littleneck clams, parsley, parmigiano) a dish of amazing brilliance.  By amazing, I mean I would like to begin each day with a few generous bites since I am fully convinced that flavor is what life is all about.  Let me not gloss over the lobster roll with new Bae fries.  By Bae they mean boyfriend/girlfriend.  And those fries are so incredible you might consider trading yours for a medium sized handful.

I cannot give enough props to the seared striped bass (baby fennel, poblano sofrito, black olive, tarragon emulsion).  Or their desserts.  That menu is brief but powerful.  I chose Honey & Milk (white chocolate mousse, honeycomb and bee pollen) then found renewed happiness in every bite.  Out East is named for the coast of Long Island.  But luckily, it’s exactly where we want it.
