American. Breaking bread takes on a whole new meaning at High Street on Hudson. They are such gifted bakers, you might be tempted to frame rather than eat it. I cannot recommend strongly enough experiencing the “breads and spreads” since that in itself is worth the visit.
Soon to follow, the soft shell shrimp (fresh corn polenta, pickled shishitos). Don’t peel. Just eat. You won’t be sorry. The rye rigatoni is in good company with chicken sausage, broccoli rabe and aged sheep cheese. Their red snapper brilliant (sun gold tomatoes, potatoes, grilled okra). Next, it was time for more baked goods (aka dessert)!
Each creation sounded so ridiculously unique, it’s necessary to detail them all: blueberry corn (honey cake, chamomile ice cream), peaches pecan (snickerdoodle, buttermilk ice cream) and roasted milk chocolate (whey caramel, Japanese cheesecake). I can swear by the third personally, a creation I have never had before. It’s not every day one samples such delicious innovation. Unless you find yourself at High Street on Hudson.
